INTERNATIONAL bank Handelsbanken raised more than £200 for a scanner appeal by holding its first ladies event.

The fashion-themed fundraiser was held at the bank’s Crewe branch, and was hosted by Sarah Young from the bank.

The money will support the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity’s MRI Scanner Appeal, which recently launched its £1 million campaign to provide an additional MRI scanner at Leighton Hospital.

For a small donation to the appeal guests were able to visit an accessory swap table, where they could exchange an unwanted accessory for a new one.

The event was supported by the community, including local businesses Hibberts LLP, Afford Bond and County Insurance Services.

Sarah Young said: “We are really pleased and delighted to assist with this worthwhile appeal as it is based in the centre of the area we cover from our Crewe office.”

Laura Riddle, fundraising manager at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity, said: “We are very grateful to Handelsbanken for organising this event, and for the support of the local businesswomen who were involved and attended as guests.

“It was a really successful event enjoyed by all who went along.”
