HANDY groups of students have helped to transform two key areas of South Cheshire College’s campus.

Painting and Decorating and Entry to Construction groups have been working flat out to re-paint the College’s Sports Arena and Higher Education Learning Zone.

The walls in the Sports Arena have changed colour from white to blue, while the HE Learning Zone is now a mix of blue and red.

Blue is in keeping with the Sports Arena’s Climbing Wall and will help player visibility for indoor sports such as badminton, while the new colour scheme in the Learning Zone will provide a warm feel for a facility which students use each day.

Richard Lunt, assistant director for the faculty of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) said: “To take on projects of this magnitude has been great experience for the Painting and Decorating and Construction students.

“They have been given blank white canvases in both the Sports Arena and HE Zone to work on and have enjoyed putting their painting skills to the test.

“The projects have given students the opportunity to show what they can do on a broader scale outside the main college construction workshops.”
