A MOTORWAY work space for professionals has opened at Sandbach South motorway service area.

Regus, a global workspace provider, has opened the doors to its first Express location on the M6 motorway.

The professional drop-in workspace is a direct response to concerns over an increasing number of professionals taking conference calls at the wheel.

Phil Kemp, global managing director of Regus Third Place, said: “We are excited to open our first workplace on the M6, which will shortly be followed by several other locations across Roadchef’s network.

“One of the primary ways that they are used is by motorists dropping in to check their emails and make urgent phone calls, rather than doing this at the wheel."

Previous research commissioned by Regus has revealed that two fifths of mobile workers had dialled into conference calls while driving.

Regus Express will offer a convenient place to stop off and work in a safe environment, whether it is minutes or hours.

The latest Regus Express will feature a drop-in business lounge, plus high-specification meeting rooms available by the hour.

“Regus Express offers them a safe, quiet and productive business environment," Mr Kemp said. "They also serve as convenient meeting points and occasional workspace for remote workers.”

Regus expect their latest office attract those wanting to hold out-of-town meetings and self-employed people seeking an occasional alternative to the home office, as well as motorists passing through.

Access to Regus Express costs £5 per hour or £10 per day. Membership options are also available.
