AN APPEAL has been launched to trace fourteen birds that were stolen from an aviary in Crewe.
The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between 10pm on Tuesday, April 26 and 7am on Wednesday, April 27 at an address on Middlewich Street, Crewe.
The offender is believed to have accessed the property by claiming over the fence at the rear of the address, from Sherborne Road.
Once inside the garden the offender then forced open the door of the aviary and stole a total of fourteen birds, including budgies, finches, a canary and quails.
The offender then left the property by climbing over the rear fence onto Sherborne Road.
Officers are now appealing for information.
Investigating Officer PC Kris Bache said: “This is an ongoing investigation and as part of my enquiries I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the local area around the time this incident occurred and believes that they may have seen anything suspicious.”
Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 100 of April 27, 2016.
