YEAR six students at Hungerford Academy were treated to an early glimpse of working life last week, when a number of companies visited the school to discuss various occupations.
Students were greeted by representatives from businesses as varied as a dance school and firework shop during a careers morning on June 9.
Crewe’s community plan, A Vision for Crewe, joined forces with the academy to welcome companies such as Tesco Extra, Crewe Fire Station and Cox Bank Publishing.
Billie-Jean Parkes from Viadance said: “Students responded well and were really engaged with activities. We were really impressed with how well behaved the children were at this school, and appreciate that we got invited to take part in such a good morning.”
Benn Minshall from A Vision for Crewe said: “We warmly welcomed the opportunity to work with Hungerford and their students.
"It is always great to engage with our young people in Crewe and what a great turn out we had from local businesses.”
