A DRUG dealer who was caught with a £4.9million haul of cocaine after being pulled over for a routine traffic stop been jailed for six years.

Voicu Razvan Florea, 31, of Risingholme Road in Harrow, London, was travelling along the M6 near Crewe when he was routinely stopped by Taskforce traffic officers.

Following a subsequent search of his vehicle, a grey Nissan Micra, 16 blocks of cocaine were found in a suitcase in the boot.

Florea pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court today and was given a six-year custodial sentence.

Constable, Scott Bowater, of Cheshire’s Taskforce Proactive Officers Team, said: “Thanks to the work of traffic officers conducting a routine stop, and the subsequent work carried out by Taskforce officers, it has resulted in a significant amount of drugs being removed from our streets.

“By proactively policing our roads and motorway networks it prevents organised criminal’s from having the access to transport these drugs around the country.

"We will continue to make every effort to remove these drugs from our streets to protect and improve the quality of life for our community.”
