RESIDENTS are being invited to learn more about a new end-of-life care appeal launched by the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity.

Earlier this year the charity announced it was trying to raise £100,000 to fund additional comforts and create better environments for patients coming to the end of their lives and for their loved ones.

And next Monday, Mark Porter from the Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity (MCHC) will be appearing at Northwich Rotary's special speaker luncheon to provide more details on the appeal.

Mark, who will also provide an update on the Victoria Infirmary Northwich, will be joined at Winnington Park Recreation Club by Susie Osborne, who will discuss the upcoming Northwich LitFest event.

A Northwich Rotary spokesman said: "Following the huge success of our Children's Emergency Care Appeal for Leighton Hospital we've been asked to create a completely new children's waiting room at VIN.

"The room will be separate from the main waiting area and will provide a safe, calming, child friendly space where children can wait for appointments or treatment.

"As well as the dedicated waiting area, we are talking to the team at VIN to find out if there are other pieces of high-tech clinical equipment, enhancements, or comforts that we could fund with the appeal to make the experience of anyone being cared for at VIN the best it can be."

There will also be updates on Rotary in Northwich events, and from Cheshire Police.

The meeting takes place in the main hall at Winnington Park Recreation Club from midday on Monday, April 22, with doors open from 11.45am.

Lunch is provided within the £14 ticket price. Tickets must be booked by midday on Friday, April 19, to be sure of a place.

They can be bought here: rotaryinnorthwich.org.uk/special-speaker-meetings.

Alternatively you can book via email at northwichrotaryss@gmail.com and pay on the door, where there will be a card machine available.

A Rotary spokesman said: "Final numbers are given to the caterers at 2pm on April 19 – please inform us of any additional attendees or that you cannot attend by this time.

"We cannot accept bookings after this time, as we need to ensure numbers remain correct for the caterers."
