A DRUG dealer from Cuddington was jailed after he broke a man’s jaw 'without provocation' outside a pub in Northwich town centre.

Callum Finlay, of Golden Nook Road, was on police bail when he attacked a stranger outside a pub on Crown Street in the early hours of Saturday, November 11, 2023.

At the time, he was being investigated after police found him at an address in Britton Court, Moulton, along with 43 wraps of heroine, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, ketamine, anabolic steroids, and £500 in cash, the previous February.

The 23-year-old was arrested on suspicion of intent to supply class A drugs but was released under investigation.

Following the Crown Street assault on November 11, he was identified as the man who punched the victim several times in the face, leaving him with a broken jaw, and was arrested later that day.

During the arrest, police confiscated a Nokia mobile phone, which after examination, contained evidence of illegal drug dealing.

Police were then able to charge him causing grievous bodily harm, two count each of supplying and being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, and possession on both class A and class B drugs.

Finlay pleaded guilty to all charges, and at a sentence hearing at Chester Crown Court on Thursday, April 18, was jailed for five years and three months.

After the hearing Detective Constable Lara Hill, of Northwich CID, said: “I welcome the sentence handed to Finlay and I hope that it acts as a warning to others.

“During our investigation it became clear that Finlay had no regard for the law. Despite his initial arrest, he continued to deal drugs while on bail.

"On top of this, he also went on to assault an innocent member of the public without provocation.”

“Thankfully, as a result of the evidence we were able to gather, Finlay was left with no option but to plead guilty to all of the offences and he is now facing the consequences of his actions.”
