THE Crewe Liberal Club Open League has been renamed the ‘Crewe Oddies Club Open League’, still under the same sponsorship.

The League HQ and all associated functions (AGM, KOs, Presentation Nights etc) will be transferred to the Oddies Club in Edleston Road.

At the league's committee meeting a five 10-team Divisional format was agreed for the Summer League.

The Winter League Team KO Cup semi finals and final was the first major event held at the new location on Monday.

Brunel A clinched the Winter League Team Knockout darts and dominoes crown with a win over Oddfellows.

Gary Talbot won the first darts game for Oddfellows but Brunel were soon level when captain Jordan Bradley won his darts singles game in 18 darts to finish the season undefeated winning 18 league games and 5 team ko games.

Poised at 3-3, Brunel built a three-game lead following darts wins from Steve Austin, Andrew Gilbert and Rob Caine.

That was reduced to one when Dez Lettin and Tony Probin scored dominoes victories for Oddfellows leaving Brunel with an aggregate 6-5 lead.

Jordan Bradley/Steve Austin won the darts pairs, but when Dave Probin took the final dominoes singles it came down to the decisive dominoes pairs game.

Brunel’s Pete Ellerton, partnered by pair Clarence Holdcroft, played double six to score the required eight points.

After the game the Brunel players dedicated the victory to the memory of Sam Gaffney a dedicated team member who died recently.
