PREMIER Division dominoes saw last season’s unluckiest team Cosey Club top score with a 6-2 defeat of promoted Brunel A.
Last season’s champions Kings A and promoted Oddies were close behind after 5-3 wins at Vine A and W/End LMR B.
Division One appears to be replicating last season’s very close contest with Pioneers Club B to the fore after beating Flying Lady A 6-2, followed by Broughton Arms who saw off Cheshire Cheese 5-3. The remaining three matches ended all square.
Division Two sees Hawk and Woodside setting the pace after 6-2 defeats of Amalgamated A and Sydney Arms. The Bridge A/C clash saw the A team take a 4-0 lead, only for the B team to win the remaining matches and peg them back to a draw.
Division Three produced a trio of 7-1 winners that sees White Lion, Swan & Chequers and last season’s runners-up Nags Head B setting a hot pace after walloping Flying Lady B, Rising Sun B and Cheshire Cheese.
The losers have Bob Edwards (Lady B), Tony Fitzgibbon (Sun B) and Barrie Collins (Coppenhall) to thank for staving off whitewashes.
Division Four has Hop Pole B setting the pace after a 6-2 defeat of newcomers British Lion, with Dishers Club B and Duke of Bridgewater B a point behind after 5-3 wins over their A and C team location colleagues.
