Mark England, Team GB’s chef de mission says it is a great opportunity for the Crewe teenager.
He added: “It’s a great shame that these five athletes will not be able to compete at the inaugural European Games but we wish them the very best in their recovery and hope to see all five back in action as soon as possible.

"It’s a great chance for two additional young athletes to be a part of this historic event.”
