FOUR Crewe Special Olympics athletes are heading to Los Angeles to represent Great Britain in the World Summer Games.
Sophie Hughes, Phoebe Lowe, Kirsty Robertson, all from Crewe, and Felicity Martin, from Wistaston, will compete in the rhythmic gymnastics.
More than 6,500 athletes and 2,000 coaches will represent 165 countries in Los Angeles, as 30,000 volunteers help keep the event running.
With an anticipated 500,000 spectators, it is set to become the single biggest event in Los Angeles since the 1984 Olympic Games.
The Games begin on Saturday.
