FOLLOWING completion of the Crewe Oddies Club Open League Summer Team Knockout quarter finals only one top flight side, Pioneers Club A, reached the semis.

They are joined by Broughton and Horseshoe from Division One and Division Two’s Willaston Club .

In the all-Premiership clash between Vine A and Pioneers A the Pies raced into a 5-1 darts advantage thanks to Stuart Kellett 15 darts,Tony Richardson 17 darts and John Cooper 18 darts.

Vine’s only response came from Robbie Arrowsmith who won in 18 darts.

The Pioneers also dominated the dominoes winning three of the four games played to run out 8-2 aggregate winners.

There was a close encounter at the Broughton as visitors White Lion Ford Lane took the darts 4-3 as the Broughton responded sharing the dominoes singles games leaving the tie to be decided on the final dominoes pairs games which went the way of the Broughton pairings of Andy Oliver/Martin Blakeman and Ian Clarke/Martin Lee giving them an 8-7 aggregate victory.

There was another close game at the Horseshoe as Andy Patrick hit top form winning in 20 darts giving the Shoe a 4-3 darts lead as the Brunel B responded leading the dominoes 4-3 to level at 7-7 leaving all to be decided on the final dominoes pairs game, which was won by the Horseshoe pairing of Ron Lightfoot and Norman Braithwhaite to see them through to the semis with an 8-7 aggregate score.

Division Two high flyers Willaston Club led division one visitors Hop Pole A with a 4-3 darts advantage and despite Hop Pole winning the first three dominoes games Willaston took control winning the dominoes 5-3 for a 9-6 aggregate success.

The draw for the semi-finals to be played at the Oddies Club on Monday 31st August is as follows: Broughton v Willaston Club; Horseshoe v Pioneers Club A.

In the re-arranged league games Cosey Club remained in third place in premier darts after a 6-2 victory over bottom team Brunel A but still six points adrift of second placed Pioneers A.

The Cosey’s Dave Wood 15 darts with a 104 finish,Bobby Baynham 16 and 18 darts,Mark Jodrill 16 and 20 darts, were the players in form.Jordon Bradley was on form for Brunel with a 17 darter.

In Division Two darts Amalgamated B ‘s 6-2 victory over Nantwich Rd B strengthens their hold on second place and takes them 10 points clear of third placed Sydney Arms.

Paul Jones hit a 107 checkout for Mals B.

In division three darts Risings Sun B’s 5-3 defeat of Flying Lady B lifts them a place to sixth and leaves the Lady four points adrift at the bottom The division four darts clash between of Brunel C and Dishers B won 5-3 by Dishers for whom John Abbot hit a 180 puts Brunel C top by two points and lifts Dishers B to fourth but still way off the pace.

In premier dominoes Cosey Club after being unbeaten in eleven matches have now lost their last three the last being a 7-1 thrashing by Brunel C who now move up five places to fourth just two points behind Cosey.

In Division Two dominoes Amalgamated B’s 5-3 defeat of Nantwich Rd B lifts them two places into fourth and challenging for runners-up spot along with Hawk and Willaston Club.

Flying Lady B’s improved form in division three dominoes continued with a 6-2 defeat of fellow struggles Rising Sun B but they have at least vacated bottom spot two points behind Rising Sun B.

In Division Four dominoes the top pair Dishers B and Brunel C leave a status quo after their dawn clash which moves both further ahead of their challengers
