NANTWICH Town head into an FA Trophy first qualifying round clash with Salford City on a six-game unbeaten run.

The Dabbers host their promotion rivals in cup action on Friday, in a 7.45pm kick off.

And Phil Parkinson's side will be brimming with confidence after substitute Liam Shotton header a winner in added time on Tuesday in a 1-0 win against Stourbridge at Weaver Stadium.

The first notable chance of the opening 15 minutes fell to Nantwich and Matty Kosylo after Jon Moran won the ball and found Josh Hancock.

The Dabbers were beginning to build momentum and Steve Jones was at the heart of another attack three minutes later.

He beat Brian Smikle on the right, ran the ball down the line and whipped in a cross but it was just out of Kosylo’s reach.

With half an hour gone Stourbridge threatened through Matt Dodd, who found space in the Nantwich box and unleashed a fierce shot only for Mat Bailey to clear.

Jones saw his curled shot saved by Lewis Solly as the sides went in level at the interval.

With three quarters of the game gone Osborne brought down Sam Hall’s diagonal pass with an exquisite touch – he composed himself and fired a shot goalwards only to see it fizz wide.

Drew Canavan had a chance for Stourbridge as Thomas Tonk’s long throw in found it’s way to the substitute just inside the box, but he snatched at the shot and was unable to put the visitors ahead.

At the other end of the pitch Kosylo clipped the post with cross-cum-shot.

But two minutes into additional time the Dabbers grabbed an unexpected winner as Osborne hit the ball long into the Stourbridge box.

Substitute Shotton timed his jump perfectly and headed the ball calmly into the back of the net to snatch the points and keep Dabbers above Friday's opponents in fourth spot.
