THE regular Crewe Oddies Club Open League Premier Division Darts top pair are again showing they mean business after their latest victories.

Pioneers Club A won 5-3 at fourth placed Cosey Club and West End LMR B 7-1 at bottom placed Hop Pole A.

The pair share top place with identical records, eight points ahead of closest rivals Eight Farmers A, who drew at Nantwich Road ASLEF.

Top match was the Vine A/Horse Shoe encounter in which Vine took a 2-0 lead with wins by Robbie Arrowsmith, who fired a 17 darter, and Howard Bateman who won in 17 and 18 darts and also bombed a 180.

The Shoe retaliated and Cliff Williams hit a brace of 19 darters, Steve Hughes with 15 and 17 darters and Simon Phillips with as 17 dart leg, kick starting their response en route to their 5-3 win.

Other top marksmen were Mark Jodrill (Cosey) who won in 15 and 18 darts, Carl Dennel (LMR B) and Andy Pitt (Kings B) who fired 16 darters, Andy including 180 in his and Jordan Bradley (Cosey), Brendon Carberry (Oddies) and Shaun Wilkinson (LMR B) who all chucked 18 dart legs.

Dave Coyne (Oddies) included a 180 in his 19 darter and Aaron Ayres (LMR B) fired a ton checkout. Other maximum men were Tony Richardson (Pi’s), Cliff Davison (ASLEF) and the consistent Tom Kelly (Farmers).

Division One pacemakers Willaston Club remain 100% after a 6-2 win at White Lion and head fresh challengers Broughton Arms, who also hit six at Brunel Arms A.

Cheshire Cheese and Crown share third place after the Cheese came out top 5-3 in their clash. Barry Cooper (Cheese) was this weeks top marksman with a 13 darter, Dan Potts (Willaston) hit a 17 dart leg and Rob Challinor (Nantwich Road A) a 20 darter.

Shaun Boffey (Cheese), Paul Jones (Amalgamated B) and Lee Moffat (Willaston) all fired 180s.

Division Two pacemakers Brunel Arms B considerably enhanced their title chances after they delivered a whitewash to fourth placed hosts Bridge A, to move four points clear with a match in hand.

Brunel’s fire power of 17/19 darters by John Speed, 18 darts and a 120 kill by Ben Davies, 19 darts from Lyndon Cartwright and a 180 from Keith Fulham could not be matched by the Bridge.

Second and third placed Hawk and Rising Sun A met, the resultant draw not enhancing either team’s record.

Hawks marksmen were Nick Bayliss with a 17 darter and John Howard and Sam Williams with 180’s while Neil Robbins responding for the Sun with a 180.

Division Three has new leaders in Swan & Chequers after their 5-3 win at Duke of Bridgewater B.

Three points behind the Swan are Coppenhall Club, whose 5-3 defeat by visitors Brunel Arms C lifted the latter up to fourth, four points behind Cheshire Cheese, who had a bye week.

Shaun Young (Nags Head B) won with 17 and 22 darts.

Division 4 Darts toppers Nags Head A move six points clear after a 5-3 victory over Dishers Club A, who climb to second, one point ahead of Hop Pole B, who did not play.

Premier Division Dominoes leaders West End LMR B opened up a seven points advantage after a double 7-1 win at Hop Pole A, for whom Eddie Hamill was the sole winner.

Vine A move up a place to second after drawing with Horse Shoe, demoting Pioneers Club A to third after their 6-2 defeat at Cosey Club.

A close contest between all but the leaders has six points covering all nine teams.

Division One has Nantwich Road A taking over top spot after a 6-2 win at Amalgamated A, with deposed leaders Broughton Arms, 5-3 victors at Brunel Arms A, a point back in second.

Division Two sees current Champions Woodside taking over at the top after their top scoring 6-2 victory over visitors Kings Arms B. Deposed leaders Flying Lady A drop to second and also forfeited their 100% win record when they lost the last three games in a 5-3 defeat at Sydney Arms, who will no doubt be happy to vacate bottom spot.

Division Three toppers Coppenhall Club beat Brunel Arms C 5-3 to move two points ahead of fresh challengers and current Champions White Lion, who hit Vine B for six. Duke of Bridgewater B beat Swan & Chequers 5-3, but drop a place to third on the matches won parameter.

Division Four, as in the darts, has Nags Head A six points clear at the top after a 6-2 win over Dishers Club A.

Hop Pole B, who did not play, remain second, just ahead of the two Dishers teams, the B teams 5-3 defeat of Bridge D meaning they are the sole board game 100 percenters.
