HOLDERS West End LMR B were surprisingly knocked out of the Oddies Club Open League Summer Team Knockout by fellow Premiership team the Oddies Club in the second round.

West End took the darts games 4-2 but the Oddies dominated the dominoes, wining all six singles games to give them an 8-4 aggregate victory.

In the other all-Premiership clashes, Pioneers A progressed thanks to their dominoes players against Eight Farmers A, took the darts 4-2 but the Pies dominated the dominoes 6-1 to give them an 8-5 aggregate success.

Horse Shoe’s clash with opponents Cosey was a much tighter affair; the latter had a 4-3 darts advantage but had to wait until the final dominoes pairs games to secure an 9-6 victory.

Willaston Club, despite winning the darts 6-1, were also pushed right to the end by Amalgamated B, who won five of the six singles games before Willaston eventually came through 9-6.

Vine A’s passage to the next round was much more straight-forward, whitewashing Hop Pole B 7-0 in the darts before two singles dominoes wins sealed a 9-4 win to book their place in round three.

Premiership side Broughton fell to Division One’s Hop Pole A in a close contest decided on the final dominoes pairs game, which gave Hop Pole a tight 8-7 victory.

Captain Webb came through a to-and-fro clash with White Lion (Copp), with Capt Webb winning the darts rounds 5-2 as visitors White Lion(Copp) hit back at dominoes to level at 6-6. However, Capt Webb won the final singles game and both pairs games to secure a 9-6 aggragte victory.

It was a good night for the Kings Arms as both teams got through to the next round after close encounters being decided on the final dominoes pairs game.

Kings A beat Cheshire Cheese 8-7, while Kings B won by the same scoreline after winning the darts 5-2 against hosts Woodside, who fought back to level in the dominoes before Kings won the final pairs game.

Nags Head were less successful as both teams failed to reach the third round, the A Team losing 8-5 to visitors Brunel B, while Nags B lost 9-5 at Vine B.

There were comfortable home victories for Bridge A (8-2), Raven (9-4) and Flying Lady A (9-4) over respective opponents Flying Lady B, Hawk, and Dishers B.

Amalgamated A (8-1) and Pioneers B (9-6) both had easy away victories against respective opponents Nantwich Rd Aslef and Duke of Bridgewater C.
